Rio 2016 takes part in the 3rd edition of the Sustainable Brands´15 Rio de Janeiro

“A global community that strives to rethink the role of brands and their ability to generate value, strengthen trends and spread sustainable solutions for society”. That is how Sustainable Brands is viewed by its creators.

Rio 2016 was present at the third edition of the event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, and which showed in its opening plenary how the organisation of the Games is involving sustainability in the production of the events. For two and a half days, talks and workshops took place with some of the main references in the market, during which sustainability was discussed. To talk about the subject, Rio 2016 was represented by its Sustainability General Manager, Tania Braga.

“Taking part in such an important event for the community interested in sustainability was paramount at this moment for Rio 2016. During these three days we exchanged experiences, established important contacts and also introduced the “Sobre Rodas Rio 2016 (Rio 2016 on wheels) project, a new project that we want to take outside the Committee, and which strengthened even further our participation in the event”, said Tania.

Among the activations of the brands present, Rio 2016 grabbed people’s attention with the launching of the “Sobre Rodas Rio 2016” project, which resembles the “Não sou cadeirante, mas e se eu fosse?” (I’m not a wheelchair user, but what if I were?) project, which has been practised at our headquarters since 2013. The “Sobre Rodas Rio 2016″ wants to reach private businesses as a promoter of changes and people’s perceptions”, Tania adds.

If the aim was to bring together the community of Brazilian and world leaders linked to the theme, the event reaffirmed itself as an international reference on the matter.

It is worth pointing out that the Sustainable Brands Rio integrates the global network of conferences, along with nine other events, which include the following cities: Bangkok, Barcelona, Boston, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, London and San Diego.
