The Ginásio Rodrigão is headquartered in the city of Praia Grande, on the southern coastline of São Paulo state (Southeast Region of Brazil). It was inaugurated in 2005 and provides infrastructure for Handball training.
The venue features a meeting room, controlled access and security personnel on site and an exclusive sports equipment safekeeping area. It is also available on an exclusive use basis.
Experience in sporting events:
The venue is experienced in hosting Brazilian and international sporting events. The gymnasium has accommodated the training of the Women’s Dominican Republic National Handball Team (for the 2007 Pan-American Games) and the Women's Denmark National Handball Team (for the 2011 World Championship).
About the city:
The defining characteristic of the city of Praia Grande (Long Beach), as its name suggests, is a 22.5km long coastline extension. It also has mangroves, waterfalls and historic buildings. Part of the Serra do Mar State Park is located in this city of a population of 260,769, and is located 514km from the city of Rio de Janeiro.
