The Ginásio Municipal de Esportes Dr. Plácido Rocha is located in the city of Araçatuba, São Paulo state (Southeast Region of Brazil), and was inaugurated in the 1960's. After reformation works were completed in 2009, the gymnasium's structure was renovated and now offers a temperature controlled environment and infrastructure for training high performance athletes in Volleyball.

The venue's infrastructure also includes strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, massage and cryotherapy. In addition, it provides a restaurant, café, exclusive area for first aid and for meetings, briefing and conferences, as well as a private office for team management and rest areas for athletes.

The gymnasium is deeply rooted in the tradition of revealing high performance athletes. During the 1990's, players Marta Sobral, Branca, Vânia Teixeira and Ruth de Souza of the Women's Brazilian National Basketball Team, who also played for teams in the city, trained and competed in this gymnasium. Today, the venue hosts the games of local Volleyball team “Vôlei Futuro”, with Paula Pequeno, Fernanda Garay, Mário Júnior and Ricardinho.

The Ginásio Municipal de Esportes Dr. Plácido Rocha is experienced in hosting regional and Brazilian sporting events. Among the competitions held on site, the most notable were the games of the Superliga Masculina e Feminina de Vôlei (Brazilian volleyball championship), tournament where the local team “Vôlei Futuro” participated.
