Brazil does not currently require foreign nationals to be vaccinated against yellow fever (a viral disease transmitted by mosquitos) or any other diseases. However, it is the responsibility of the traveler to consult your local health services around 8 weeks before your trip to check whether you need to take any vaccinations or other preventive measures. Region-specific information and advice is available from the National Travel Health Network and Centre. The following link provides information specific to Brazil.
The advice of the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) should also be taken for those travelling to Brazil. Vaccination against yellow fever for those who will be visiting the following states is recommended: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Distrito Federal, Goias, Maranhaõ, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins, Bahia, Paraná, Piauí, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
Please note that visitors who transit in another country en route to Brazil are responsible for checking the rules and regulations that apply regarding vaccinations there.
