Visas

Foreign athletes taking part in Pre-Games Training Camps (PGTC) who are nationals of countries with which Brazil does not have a visa waiver agreement will need a visa to come to the country. Obtaining visas is the responsibility of the applicants.

The General Chart of Visa Requirements for the Entry of Foreigners in Brazil specifies which nationalities need a visa to enter Brazil and which are exempt. The Chart is available at: http://www.portalconsular.mre.gov.br/estrangeiros/quadro-geral-de-regime-de-vistos

To apply for the visa, the foreigner should present a completed Visa Application Form (https://scedv.serpro.gov.br), a valid passport, proof of payment of consular fees, an International Immunisation Certificate (if necessary) and any other document specific to the type of visa applied for.

The application for a visa for minors (under 18 years of age) should be accompanied by a written travel consent from both parents, legal guardians, or a competent judicial authority.

Necessary documentation should be presented to a Consular Office or Consular Sector of a Brazilian diplomatic mission abroad. Information about addresses and opening times of Brazilian Consular Offices abroad can be found at http://www.portalconsular.mre.gov.br/o-que-faz-um-consulado/sites-dos-postos/por-ordem-alfabetica
