The Sociedade de Ginástica Porto Alegre (SOGIPA) is located in the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state (South Region of Brazil). The venue is experienced in hosting national sporting events and is suitable for Athletics, Judo, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Fencing, Volleyball and Tennis training.

The venue features 12 tennis courts, a synthetic athletics track, a swimming pool, a sports centre with five arenas and training rooms. It offers rooms for strength and conditioning, first aid, medical treatment, physiotherapy and massage, and sauna and steam rooms. Meeting/briefing and multimedia rooms, a private team management office, a restaurant, a café, and a rest area are also available. The venue has controlled access and security personnel on site.

Experience in sporting events:

In recent years, SOGIPA has hosted many noteworthy events, including the Troféu Brasil de Judô (Brazilian Judo Trophy), the Circuito Paraolímpico de Atletismo (Paralympic Athletics Circuit), the Grand Prix Nacional de Judô (Brazilian Judo Grand Prix) and the XXIII Torneio Nacional de Ginásitca Artística (23rd Brazilian Artistic Gymnastic tournament). Prominent athletes who started their careers at the venue include Alexandre Garcia (Judo), Régis Ávila (Fencing), João Derly (Judo), Jorge Teixeira (Athletics), Renan Dal Zotto (Volleyball) and Paulão (Volleyball).

Porto Alegre, capital city of Rio Grande do Sul state, is located 1,553km from the city of Rio de Janeiro and sits at an average altitude of 10m above sea level. It has a population of 1,409,939 (IBGE index). One of the city's most notable natural attractions include the Parque Itapuã (Itapuã Park) ecological reserve.
