Brazil does not currently require foreign nationals to be vaccinated against yellow fever (a viral disease transmitted by mosquitos) or any other diseases. However, it is the responsibility of the traveler to consult your local health services around 8 weeks before your trip to check whether you need to take any vaccinations or other preventive measures. Foreign athletes and technical committees that intend to travel to Brazil should contact the Consulate General of Brazil or Brazilian diplomatic missions overseas (Embassies) that have consular representation.
Foreign athletes taking part in Pre-Games Training Camps (PGTC) who are nationals of countries with which Brazil does not have a visa waiver agreement will need a visa to come to the country. Obtaining visas is the responsibility of the applicants.
