The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games are seeking to establish a record before the opening ceremony has even begun. The aim of the Organising Committee for the Rio 2016 Games is to sell more tickets than any other edition. A total of 3.3 million tickets will be on sale from 7 September, Brazilian Independence Day. At London 2012, 2.7 million tickets were sold.
The Paralympic Games are established thus: the search for the record combined with lessons of courage. Nothing seems impossible to athletes who have transformed overcoming limits into a way of life.
The journey towards that public record begins today (14 May). The Rio 2016 Committee published the ticket prices for the Games, which will take place from 7-18 September 2016. There are around 300 sessions and tickets cost between R$10 and R$130. Prices for the opening and closing ceremonies vary from R$100 to R$1,200.
Ticket requests for Brazilian begin on 7 September, with the launch of the draws in October and online sales in December. Ticket deliveries will be made in May 2016 and ticket office sales will begin the following month. The sales to foreign fans will go through the official NOCs and ATRs. Each ATR can choose the date to begin sales - as long as it is after September 7th.
The Paralympic Games are the third biggest ticketed event in the world. They gather 4,350 athletes from 178 countries to contest 23 sports. To see the complete ticket prices table click on the link
