Stand-up paddle has become one of the most popular pastimes in Brazil in the last couple of years. Torchbearer Ludmila Gomes took the Olympic Torch out to sea at Praia do Canto to get a taste of this latest craze.

Alison Ceruti, the beach volleyball Mammoth, passed the Olympic Torch to his team mate Bruno Schmidt in one of the highlights of the relay in Vitória. "Lets all support Brazilian athletes," Ceruti said.

Alison Cerutti won silver in beach volleyball at London 2012 and is the reigning world champion. Cerutti, known as the Mammoth, was on torchbearing duty in his home town of Vitória today.

Beach volleyball play Flávio Freitas carried the Olympic Torch into Vitória using a rigid-hulled infloatable boat. The city is the first Brazilian state capital with a seafront to welcome the torch.
