• Jocimar Lima took pet dog Remo out for a bicycle ride with a difference on Friday. The inseparable pair witnessed the Olympic Torch Relay traverse this small town in Bahia.

  • "Carrying the Torch is a matter of pride for the people of Vitória da Conquista and for the deaf community." Magno Prates, chairman of the local association for the hearing impaired, was one of the first torchbearers as the torch entered town today.

  • Magno Prates - who was born deaf, like his parents - campaigns for people with a hearing impairment. The 22-year-old, president of the Vitória da Conquista Deaf Association, will carry the Olympic Torch in his home town.

  • Rio 2016 Olympic mascot Vinícius is already in Praça Tancredo Neves in the centre of Vitória da Conquista, where the torch relay will pass through today.
