  • Congo is a traditional style of music played during religious festivals in the state of Espirito Santo. At the age of 84, torchbearer Ester Vieira is known as the Queen of Congo in the Barra do Jucu district of Vila Velha.

  • João José Bracony competed in the sailing competition at the London 1948 Olympic Games. Today, at the age of 97, he carried the torch on its way to the first Games in South America. "I never expected to see it again," he said. "It's a great honour."
