As ever, Rio 2016 Olympic mascot Vinicius has arrived in advance of the Olympic Torch, to check out the party site. He is in Praça Nova do Congresso, the main square of Senhor do Bonfim, where the relay will pass through today.

The Olympic torch relay reunites two generations of coaches in Senhor do Bonfim. Jorge Ivan, 68, and Jean Kerll, 41. Jorge pioneered the Regional Student Games in 1972 and follwing in his footsteps, Jean coached the women's handball team to championship victory in the Northeastern League.
