Another Brazilian volleyball legend carried the Olympic torch this Friday (5 August) in Rio de Janeiro. Dante is a three-time Olympic medallist with Brazil, including a gold at Athens 2004. "Its an enormous pleasure to be part of the torch relay."

Isabel Salgado is one of the biggest names in Brazilian volleyball. She competed at Moscow 1980 and Los Angeles 1984 and now will cheer for her son, Pedro Solberg, at Rio 2016, who will compete in the beach volleyball.

The Olympic torch relay began its final day with a blessing from Cardinal Dom Orani Tempesta at the foot of Christ the Redeemer. During the ceremony the Cardinal read the Pope's message of goodwill for the Olympic Games.
