• Vinícius was well received in Poço Redondo. Mini versions of Lampião and Maria Bonita, a notorious gunslinging outlaw duo in the early 20th Century, put a traditional 'cangaceiro' hat on our mascot. The city is known for being where Virgulino "Lampião" Ferreira and his companion Maria Bonita took their last stand.

  • In special costume, citizens of Poço Redondo welcomed the Olympic torch in a 'cavalhada', a special folkloric parade found in various regions of Brazil.
