The 11th day of the torch relay concluded in high style at Inhotim. Torchbearer Ítalo Manzine carried the torch into the centre of Beam Drop, the recreation of a celebrated installation by artist Chris Burden. The installation was originally created in New York in the 1980s.

Rosemeire Diniz was a torchbearer at the Inhotim Institute. She works as a guide at the museum and has been involved with the social inclusion project for 8 years. Diniz carried the torch in front of the "Tamboril", a tree that has between 80 and 100 years, and is a landmark of the Institute.

One of the highlights of the torch's journey through Minas Gerais will be the visit to Inhotim on Friday. This sprawling contemporary art museum, with landscaping by Roberto Burle Marx, has become a pilgrimage site for art lovers around the world.
