    The honour of being the first to take the torch to Brazil's coastline fell to Derek Rabelo. Despite his visual impairment, the 23-year-old from Espírito Santo is a talented surfer. "Maybe I feel the sea better because I can't see it. Every part of each wave has a different sound."

    On Tuesday 17 May, on day 15 of the relay, the Olympic Torch will see the sea for the first time. This historic moment will take place in the city of Guapari, on the Espírito Santo coast.
