Cássio Petry has a collection of Olympic memories in canoeing. He went to Sydney 2000 and was voted 2011 athlete of the year in the sport by the Brazilian Olympic Committee. Carrying the torch he said "Its like a film in your head. A unique moment."

Mascot Vinícius took a little trip down to the Cascata do Caracol. The waterfall is a popular tourist attraction in Canela.

Typical of the Corpus Christi celebration in Rio Grande do Sul, carpets of sand were made for the visit of the Olympic torch in Canela in the Serra Gaúcha. This time, however, the design chosen for the carpets was the Olympic symbol.
