Roberto Rodrigues showed he is a proud Brazilian by signing the national anthem at the top of his voice throughout his leg of the Rio 2016 Olympic Torch Relay in Aracati.

Carnival may now be a distant memory, but that didn't stop carnival troupe Universo Negro bringing their famous figures into the streets of Aracati to witness the Olympic Torch Relay.

Nayara Marques, is just 16 years old but is already a leading voice in the fight against prejudice. "In the times we live in, there is no room for something as old-fashioned as prejudice. The Olympic flame is a symbol of a more egalitarian society," she says.

When 11-year-old Lucas Monteiro is older, he wants to be a clown. The kid got in some practice today at the Olympic Torch Relay in Aracati.

David Brasilíno will be competing in table tennis in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. "I am focused and training hard," he says. The 38-year-old defeated all his main rivals to win the world championship in Bratislava and is confident going into Rio.
