Tennis, golf and hockey venues among highlights as video shows Rio 2016 construction progress

The world’s best players will compete for gold at the Olympic Tennis Centre (Renato Sette Camara/Rio City Government)

Fancy a glimpse of the main court of the Rio 2016 Olympic Tennis Centre? What about a sneak preview of the golf course that will be used for the sport’s return to the Olympic fold? Then check out the video below, filmed by the Brazilian Federal Government at the end of October, showing progress on these and many other venues for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Barra Olympic Park and 12 new venues at least 90 per cent complete

As well as the new tennis stadium in Barra Olympic Park and the almost complete golf course, the video shows strong progress on the Olympic Hockey centre in Deodoro Olympic Park, which will also host the venues for canoe slalom, BMX and mountain bike. The film also shows the Olympic and Paralympic Village, which is virtually ready.

The Federal Government releases an updated video each month: check out the October and September versions and compare the progress.
