Brazil has good reasons for pride and added confidence to its expectations. An assessment conducted by the specialized site Game Bids, a well known media of in the Olympic world, granted the Wonderful City and Rio 2016 the most favorable evaluation among the projects competing to host 2016 Olympic Games. Rio de Janeiro was granted 60.81 points, outranking Chicago, 60.57; Tokyo, 60.41 and Madrid, 58.25 in the ranking prepared by this site. The applicants were evaluated using BidIndex, a model applied to the conditions of every city, based on the data submitted in the answers to the questionnaire prepared by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), approaching economic, social, geographic, political aspects and consequently governmental support.
Other significant issues will be analyzed and evaluated by BidIndex (with new assignment of points) in the coming months and may lead to changes to in ranking. The strength of Rio 2016 project has been calling the attention of the Olympism experts. According to Game Bids, the experience resulting from having hosted the Pan American Games Rio 2007, Brazils preparations to stage the World Soccer Cup 2014, and the possibility of staging the Olympic Games in South America for the first time in history are all advantages for Brazil. The Olympic Movement is agreeable to the idea of having the Olympic Games visiting all continents to disseminate the Olympic ideals and sport values all around the world. Added together, these factors could add new strength to Rios campaign.
