Rio 2016 Olympic Games Organizing Committee is participating in Sportaccord, one of the world’s biggest sports conventions, which started Sunday 25th, in Dubai. The event has 1500 participants and includes the International Sports Federation General Assemblies. President Carlos Arthur Nuzman will be one of the participants in the “The change in the geography of sport” panel, this Wednesday 28th, and will discuss the main challenges in the accomplishment of sports events in emerging markets, and what the expansion of sports in South America, India, Russia and Africa represents to fields such as marketing, security, finances, political relations, talent development and infrastructure. This Tuesday 27th, Rio 2016 Director of Sports, Agberto Guimarães, did a presentation on the work plan of the department for the next months, reinforcing that the project execution will be done in close partnership with the International Federations. “We talked to around 100 people, including representatives of all sports that will be in the Rio 2016 Games program. The reaction we had was very positive. We showed the actions planned, how the team set up will be, and the phases of each project. The experience of the International Federations is very important in the development of the work and we want to straighten this relation more and more”, explained Agberto Guimarães. The presentation included the exhibition of a video showing the sports facilities foreseen for the Rio 2016 Games, warmly applauded by the audience.
