President Carlos Arthur Nuzman congratulates Vancouver 2010 team and presents snowboard medals
The president of the Organizing Committee for Rio 2016 Games Carlos Arthur Nuzman is impressed with the organization of the Olympic Winter Games, which are now being held in Vancouver, Canada. On Thursday, February 18, Nuzman presented the medals to mens halfpipe champion Shaun White and the other medalists.
Rio 2016 Committee has a team in Vancouver taking part in the Observers Program of the International Olympic Committee. The Vancouver Organizing Committee did an excellent job. Competition venues, in the Whistler and Cypress mountains, for example, are extraordinarily beautiful. The spirit of the Games has spread all over the city. Together, the Organizing Committee, the population, volunteers and visitors have created a spectacular environment for the much celebrated competitions. I would like to congratulate the Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee for the excellent work of the last few years that has now been crowned by this incredible event, Nuzman said.
The Snowboard halfpipe medal ceremony was yet another celebration at the BC Place. In front of thousands of enthusiastic sport fans president Nuzman presented the medals to American star Shaun White (gold medal, with a score of 48.4 out of 50), Finlands Peetu Piiroinen (silver, 45.0) and Whites teammate Scott Lago (bronze, 42.8).
