Representatives of Rio 2016 Bid and of the three levels of government to take part in meetings and guided visits to Games venues
Getting every single detail of the events in Beijing during the Olympic Games. This is the mission assigned to the group of Brazilians who, starting on Monday, August 11, will represent Rio 2016 Bid in Games Observers program. The chief purpose of IOCs Observers Program is a knowledge exchange among Beijing Games BOCOG and the organizing committees of the host cities of the next Olympic Games. The candidate cities for 2016 Olympic Games are invited to take part in the program.
The Brazilian team is composed of representatives of Rio 2016 Bid Committee and of the Federal, City and Municipal government levels. The Brazilian team will join the guided visits to the competition venues and attend meetings to discuss matters like security, accreditation, ticketing, marketing, brand protection and logistics. In the Observers Program we will be able to learn about the improvements brought by the Olympic Movement. We will se how the Games have changed Beijing into an Olympic City. The information will be key to Rio 2016 Bid, explained Rio 2016 International Relations Committee Director Mario Cilenti.
This is the fifth edition of IOCs Observers Program. Besides 2016 candidate cities, representatives of Vancouver 2010 (Winter Games), Singapore 2010 (Youth Olympic Games), London 2012 and Sochi 2014 (Winter Games) will also be taking part in the program.
