More than 150,000 visitors took a ride on the Ferris wheel located at Copacabana Fort in the first two months of 2009
In January and February, more than 150,000 visitors were able to admire the landscape of Rio de Janeiro from the 36 meter high Rio 2016 Wheel. It was such a hit that the Ferris wheel, which publicizes the citys bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, will be reopened today.
Before entering the Rio 2016 Wheel, visitors go through a tunnel displaying details of Rios campaign and details of Brazils Olympic history. The Rio 2016 Wheel will be open from Thursday to Sunday, from 2pm to 10pm, with admission costing R$8.00 (half price for students and retired people).
