The Sports Competition Leaders Recruiting Process, which aims to identify highly-qualified professional who will be responsible for the whole operation of the 28 Olympic sports and 22 Paralympic sports of the world’s largest sporting event to be held in 2016, concluded the application term on 16 March with 1,043 candidates for 52 vacancies.
Professionals from 156 Brazilian cities in 19 different states are taking part in the process. In addition, applications from Brazilians and foreigners who live in other 16 countries such as Mexico, Peru, United States, Canada, Italy, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Australia and Taiwan have been received.
The sports which received the highest number of applications were collective sports, especially Football and Volleyball, in addition to Athletics and Swimming.
“We were satisfied with this first phase of the selection process. We received résumés from candidates with the most diverse profiles and carried out a careful analysis of each one. The next steps will allow us to know these professionals and to establish closer contact”, analyses Ricardo Prado, Sports Competition Manager of the Rio 2016™ Organising Committee,and Swimming Olympic medallist.
Some of the candidates selected already took the English test via Skype. This Monday, technical and behavioural interviews will be initiated.
