On Tuesday, February 2, the president of Rio 2016 Committee Carlos Arthur Nuzman, received the Grand Prix Trophy, the most important of the the Caio Awards, said to be the “Oscar of Events”. Nuzman was chosen as 2009 Personality of the Year for Rio’s election to host 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Caio Ward was created in 1999 to encourage and recognize the work of companies and personalities towards large events. The Caio Award organizers stated that Nuzman’s selection recognizes the importance of winning new events for Brazil, which is now in the 12th position of sector ranking. The campaign that culminated with Rio’s election and the partnerships established with the three levels of government were also critical to the election of the Rio 2016 Committee President.
