A total of 862 people have applied to compete for 52 vacancies in the Recruitment Process of Sports Competition Leaders, aimed at identifying highly-qualified professionals who will be heading all the operation of the 28 Olympic and 22 Paralympic sports during the planet’s biggest event in 2016. The deadline for application is 16 March 2012: click here.
All Olympic and Paralympic sports have been receiving enrollments. Collective sports other than Swimming and Athletics have been drawing the most interest. The head of the sport competition of the Rio 2016 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ricardo Prado, says the most popular sports in Brazil are normally the most sought after.
“For sports such as Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Handball, besides Swimming and Athletics, we have received a large number of CVs. But that does not mean we will be able to find professionals suited to the profile of the vacancy. Likewise, the ideal candidate may be involved in the least popular sports. We have been carefully examining each enrollment but we still expect to receive a significant number of CVs on the last days of enrollment”, says the manager (click here for more details on the recruitment process).
Professionals from 134 Brazilian cities across 16 states in the five regions of the country have enrolled in the recruitment process. Also, Brazilians and foreigners from other 14 countries are participating in the process.
