A new video showing construction progress in the two main venue clusters for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been released by the Brazilian Federal Government.

The film features overhead images of developments in Barra and Deodoro, the sites for the two Olympic Parks, where work is in the final straight. Filmed in September, the images illustrate the advances made since the government released a similar video in August.

Check out the video here:

Starting in Barra Olympic Park, the heart of the Games, the cameras go inside the Future Arena, the handball and goalball venue that hosted an exhibition match last month. It also shows the Rio Olympic Velodrome, Olympic Tennis Centre, Olympic Aquatics Stadium, the three Carioca Arenas (referred to as the ‘Halls’ in the video) and the International Broadcast Centre.

Staying in Barra but leaving the Olympic Park, the camera then flies over the Olympic and Paralympic Village and the Olympic Golf Course, before the video moves its focus to Deodoro. In the second largest venue cluster, the first venues to be seen are those that make up the X-Park: the Olympic BMX Centre, which hosted its test event last weekend; the Mountain Bike Centre, which will host its test event this coming weekend; and the Whitewater Stadium, the canoe slalom course whose rapids were switched on last week.

The video finishes with overhead images of the Deodoro Aquatics Centre (which will host the swimming section of the modern pentathlon competition), the Olympic Hockey Centre, the Youth Arena (referred to as ‘Arena Deodoro’ on screen), Deodro Stadium, the Olympic Shooting Centre, and new accommodation being built for grooms alongside Olympic Equestrian Centre
