Brazilian Paralympic Committee presents the Olympic Games Project in Malaysia
By Rio 2016
Representatives from the five continents convened for the meeting.
The president of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (BPC) Andrew Parsons, presented 2016 Paralympic Games project to the international community, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Conference and Assembly.
The presidents of the national Paralympic committees, international federations of the various sport disciplines and of the committees of the five regions (America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Europe) convened for the biannual meeting. The presentation delivered by BPC president Andrew Parsons, deserved public praise from IPC vice-president Greg Hartung, who was a member of IOC Evaluation Commission. Representing Rio de Janeiro at the IPC Assembly was an interesting opportunity, since this was the first time the international Paralympic community has met since Rio was awarded 2016 Games, in Copenhagen, last October, said Parsons, who was elected to head the BPC in February 2009. Because of its unique features there is a significant interest around the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brazil, he added.
