What measures will be taken to improve access to the city’s public transportation system by people with disabilities?

By Rio 2016

The high capacity public transportation system (BRT) that will be implemented in the city is perfectly adapted for the physically handicapped. Arrival and departure stations are integrated with the buses and it is not necessary to take any stairs to enter or exit the vehicles. Furthermore, as at the Rio 2007 Pan-American Games, several other initiatives will be implemented to facilitate the transportation of the handicapped.
