The President of the Rio 2016 Committee receives a commendation in Colombia

The Gold Shield of Antioquia was given to Carlos Arthur Nuzman for his work towards the development of Sport

The president of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Organizing Committee and of the South American Sporting Organization (Odesur), Carlos Arthur Nuzman was honored this Tuesday, the 30th, with the Gold Shield of Antioquia. This is the highest commendation for the Government of Antioquia, of which the region of Medelin is a part, headquarters of the South American Games which ended this Tuesday.
The commendation was presented to Nuzman the Governor of Antioquia, Luiz Alfredo Ramos Bottero, at a ceremony carried out in Medellín. Nuzman has been an exemplary sporting director, one of the most important in the world. As the head of Odesur he has done a magnificent job, as well as work that allowed Rio to be chosen as the headquarters of the 2016 Olympic Games. All of south America celebrated the International Olympic Committees decision. The honor from the Government of Antioquia is a recognizing of Nuzmans work for sports and a thank you to the support from Odesur which helped the 2010 Medellín South American Games to be carried out with success said Bottero.
Touched by this Nuzman remembered that him and Bottero were contemporary as presidents of each of their respective volley ball national Federations. receiving the commendation from Botteros had is an honor. It is important that the sportsmen to occupy public jobs, because this develop the strength of sporting around the world. Thank you to the Government of Antioquia for the quality of the organization of Medellin 2010 , which leaves important legacies for Colombian youth.. The publics participation, supporting and applauding the athletes from all over the world, sums up the great celebration that was the South Americans games. I congratulate the governor for the great party that was provided for sport in South America said Nuzman.
