The Rio 2016 Games will be the best opportunity for sports fans to see the elite of world sport up close and all in one place. As you may expect, the super-coveted tickets to see stars like Michael Phelps, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have sold out. But relax, there is still hope! A new batch of 100,000 tickets will be available from 12pm (Rio time) this 'Super Thursday' (21 July), in offical Rio 2016 stores across the city and on the online Ticket Portal. There are tickets available for every sport, including all finals, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.

Rio2016.com has compiled a list of sessions featuring the superstars of the Olympic Games. Some already have tickets available, while others will have new tickets on Super Thursday. Do not miss out! Find your tickets HERE, just select your preferred sport and session.

Usain Bolt

The world’s fastest man will want a repeat performance of his scintillating form at the previous two Games and to defend his gold medals in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay. Fans are in luck as there are still tickets available for the athletics with sessions for the heats as well as the finals.

US men’s basketball team

Tickets for the group stages have already sold out but the Super Thursday release will provide another opportunity to hopefully see the stars of the NBA. The new release is certain to have tickets for the final of the basketball competiton, which the Americans are likely to reach. Aside from that, it is still possible to buy tickets for the four quarter-final matches.

US women’s football team

Olympic champions four times out of a possible five since the inception of this Olympic event, this team is one of the most dominant in world football. They also count among their ranks Carli Lloyd, currently the world's best player. Tickets are available for all of the US women's football matches as well as the final, which the Olympic champions have a good chance of being in. Their group stage matches take place in Belo Horizonte and Manaus.

Tom Daley

The British diving star, specialist in the 10m platform, has won fans the world over thanks to his charisma as well as his talent. There are still tickets for all stages of the competition, including the final.

Sonny Bill Williams

The New Zealand rugby star has won two World Cups and has a legion of fans around the world. The only sold-out session at the moment is the final, but the Super Thursday release will provide new tickets.

Gabby Douglas & Simone Biles

Douglas became the first American gymnast to win gold in the individual and team events, at London 2012. Last year at the world championships she won gold again in the team event and silver in the individuals behind team-mate Simone Biles who completed her hat-trick of world championship titles and is set to dazzle on her Olympic debut at Rio 2016. There are still tickets available for all the sessions of the gymnastics competition.

Neymar

Barcelona superstar Neymar will pull on the yellow and green of the seleção as he hopes to captain his country to a first Olympic gold medal.

Michael Phelps

All of the sessions for swimmng are sold out, showing just how popular the sport is at the Olympics. But fear not, the Super Thursday release will include a large batch of tickets, allowing another opportunity to see the greatest athlete in Olympic history up close.

Djokovic, Serena, Nadal, Federer...

Another sold out sport, this too will have a new wave of tickets available for various sessions this Super Thursday. Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will all be on court this August at Rio 2016.
