Four countries qualified for the Rio 2016 women's basketball tournament in Nantes, France on Friday (17 June): Spain, Turkey, China and France all booked their places at the Olympic Games by winning their quarter-final matches.
The fifth and final place will be decided in a winner-takes-all showdown on Sunday.
In the first of four quarter-finals on Friday at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Nantes, Spain cruised to a 70-50 win over Republic of Korea. Spain will now will return to the Olympic Games for the first time since 2008.
The next team to seal their place in Rio was Turkey, who powered to a comprehensive 71-45 win over Cuba. China, inspired by a strong performance from Shao Ting, then beat Belarus 84-70.
In the final quarter-final on Friday, host nation France steamrollered Argentina 90-53, to the delight of the home crowd.
The losing quarter-finalists still have a chance to earn a berth at Rio 2016. On Sunday, the winners of Cuba v Republic of Korea will face the winners of Argentina v Belarus in match that will decide which country takes the last place at Rio 2016.
