Six more nations have won places in the shooting competition at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has confirmed.
Shooters from Spain, Italy, Ireland, Kuwait, Bulgaria and Uzbekistan won places in Brazil via the IPC Shooting World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, with the latter three nations set to make their Paralympic Games debut in shooting.
IPC Shooting confirmed that 34 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) have now secured shooting quota places at Rio 2016, after 28 countries won berths at last year’s world championships.
The Osijek event in July was the first Paralympic qualifier of 2015, with two more to come in Australia and the USA in September and November respectively.
Also in Osijek, 11 countries added to their quota numbers, with the Republic of Korea leading the way with 11 places. China have seven, while Great Britain and Australia have six.
Once the qualification period ends, countries will begin the process of nominating which athletes will compete in Rio.
The full list of countries that have achieved quota places can be found on IPC Shooting’s website.
