Selection of the company that will create the Rio 2016 Games brand reaches its third phase
The Rio 2016 Olympic Games Organizing Committee starts on Monday 14th its third phase of the process that will choose the company that will be responsible for the creation of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games brand. From the 139 agencies that were registered in April, 86 presented the requested documentation on phase 2. After the analysis from the Rio 2016 Committee team, 24 were selected for individual interviews. The final results will be released in September. The companies participating of phase three are: 6D Print (RJ), AC Company (RJ), Brainbox Design (PR), Crama Design (RJ), DPZ (RJ), Dupla Design (RJ), Eg Design (RJ), Future Brand (SP), Gad Design (SP), Hardy Design (MG), J. Walter Thompson (RJ), Lab Design (MG), Magenta Design (RJ), Máquina Estúdio (SP), OZ Design (SP), Pádua e Bertani Design (RJ), PDV Design (MG), Rio R2 Produções (RJ), Sites & Sites (RJ), Soter Design (RJ), Studio Lúmen (PR), Tecnopop Comunicação (RJ), Valéria London (RJ) and Vinte Zero Um (RJ). Representatives of those companies will be met by the Rio 2016 Committee Marketing and Communications team so that, for one hour, they have the opportunity of presenting their doubts on the brand case presented on phase two. The next phase is the Technical Briefing, with specific guidance on the content and shape of the presentation of the creative proposals from the finalist companies. In the fifth and last phase of the process – Creative Proposals - each selected contestant will receive a compensation of R$ 10 thousand to develop their creative proposal for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games brand. Concept, Originality, Creativity and Applicability of the brand will be evaluated. All finalist agencies that hand in its creative proposal will receive a participating certificate as an honor for the contribution to the selective process. The Judging Commission will be multi-disciplinary and made of 15 members recognized on national and international levels. The members will be selected by the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee for their experience in creation and approval of brand programs or for their distinction in the International Olympic Movement. The winning company will receive R$50 thousand for the creation of the brand and will sign a six month contract, with the possibility of renewal with the Rio 2016 Committee, for design services. Besides international recognition, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games brand will have exposition for the next six years, and will be eternized by future Rio 2016 Games images, broadcasted to billions of spectators all over the world.
