Rio de Janeiro hosts rowing pre-olympic in november

By Rio 2016

Rio de Janeiro is getting ready to host yet another international sports event. From 16 to 18 November, the Rowing Stadium at Lagoa will receive the Rowing Pre-Olympic events 2007, , which will qualify 17 boats for the Beijing Games 2008.

Seventeen Latin American countries have already confirmed their presence in the competition which will have sailings in four categories: male and female skiff and male and female light weight double skiff.

The Rowing Stadium at Lagoa was reopened on July 6th this year to host the competitions in rowing and sailing in the Pan American Games Rio 2007.

The Pré-Olympic will use the same buoying system adopted in Rio 2007, with its high accuracy and providing safety to competitor to row in a straight line, allowing a better performance.
