A tunnel will divide the main tank into two sections: the Oceanic Room, containing many species of sea animals; and the Scuba Diving Room, where people will have the opportunity to dive and swim among sea animals.

AquaRio is expected to generate from 125 to 220 direct jobs. Besides its interaction activities developed with the public, AquaRio will also house a scientific center for developing research concerning sea fauna. For supporting such research and studies, a partnership with the Department of Marine Biology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) is expected to be confirmed.
