Rio City Government ready to Prepare Rio 2016 Bid Dossier

By Rio 2016

In a meeting held this Wednesday, March 26, the Rio de Janeiro mayor, Cesar Maia, 21 Municipal Secretaries and 26 city departments mobilized to prepare the dossier for the Rio de Janeiro City Bid to host the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games 2016.  “This mobilization is fundamental and demonstrates Rio de Janeiro’s full commitment in its bid to host the Olympic Games in 2016.  All City Government bodies are working diligently to meet all International Olympic Committee’s requirements,” the Mayor stated.  Mayor Maia instructed that all city agencies must give priority to the Rio 2016 project-related actions, reaffirming that the Olympic bid is strategic for the city.

Present at the meeting, the president of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) and president of the Rio 2016 Bid Committee, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, emphasized the importance of the gathering that brought together the full cabinet of the city.  “The preparation of the dossier for an Olympic bid is something very complex and requires involvement by different areas.  The City Government’s mobilization around Rio 2016 makes us sure that Rio de Janeiro is on the right track to deliver an excellent project to the IOC,” Nuzman explained.
