It was another strong performance from a USA women's basketball team that has proven to be just as, if not more, dominant, than their famed men’s counterparts.
Diana Taurasi had 13 points while four others finished in double figures as the USA cruised to a 103-63 win over Spain in their Group B match-up at the Rio 2016 Games.
The win comes after they thrashed Senegal 121-56, the largest victory margin set by the USA at an Olympic Games, and the most points the team has ever scored in the tournament.
The team has outscored their opponents 224-119 in their first two games of group play.
The win over Spain highlighted the USA's remarkably deep roster - their bench players scored 55 points while Spain's reserves managed just 16.
Spanish fans had little to cheer about but a solid 20-point effort from from forward Alba Torrens, who spoke of the USA's dominance after the game.
"There is almost nothing impossible," she said. "But beating the United States is almost impossible."

While the USA men’s team gets much of the spotlight at the Olympic Games, the women’s side has dominated the Olympic tournament in a way few other teams have.
The women have won five straight gold medals and are clearly in good shape to win a sixth.
Although the USA are one of the most dominant teams in all of sports, they still maintain a relatively close relationship with their fans, many of whom have followed the current generation of players since they were in college.

Among the scoring leaders on Monday was Elena Della Donne, who had her own special cheering section at the Youth Arena. A large group of fans from the University of Delaware, where Della Donne played college basketball, made the trip to Rio to cheer her on.

They weren’t disappointed as the Delaware native finished with 12 points and four rebounds.

Auriemma is grateful for the chance to coach some of his former players at the Olympic Games: "They have the same names and they're the same people, but they're not the same players that they were when they played for me. It's fun to watch how much they've grown and how much they've changed. I'm always amazed. You just kind of marvel at them."
