The challenges of the organization of the Rio 2016 Paralympics Games were discussed this Friday 21st, on the first day of the International Paralympics Committee (IPC) Orientation Seminar. Representatives for the Rio 2016 Committee and the three levels of government attended talks given by the IPC executive director, Xavier Gonzalez; Paralympics Games senior manager, Thanos Kostopoulos; Paralympics Games project manager, Apostolos Rigas. Professionals from different technical areas of the Rio 2016 Committee participated in the event that discussed topics such as organizational structure, planning, accessibility, marketing and technical manuals. "It is a great honor to take part in this Orientation Seminar. We have learnt a lot during the Parapan American Games, and we are organizing the Paralympics Games with the same passion and commitment we are dedicating to the Olympic Games. The Paralympics movement is very strong in Brazil, and this will be one of our advantages”, said Rio 2016 Committee president, Carlos Arthur Nuzman. The IPC Orientation Seminar ends this Saturday, when the Rio 2016 Committee will present its objectives and strategies for the Paralympics Games.
