Carlos Arthur Nuzman, President of the Brazilian Olympic Committee and the Rio 2016 Bid Committee, thanked the Confederations for their support and confidence. "The purpose of this meeting is to talk about the latest developments in Rios campaign to welcome the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and recognize the role you have all played in making it a success so far. We are very pleased with the feedback received further to our participation at several recent international events and would like to share this moment with the representatives of the confederations who have had an important role from the outset of the campaign. Such grassroots support is crucial, we have our feet on the ground and we know that we need to work right up to the final decision," said Nuzman.
