Rio 2016 is ready for Sportaccord

The Rio 2016 Bid Committee announced today the completion of their final preparations ahead of their official presentation this Thursday in Denver at the annual Sport Accord conference. The Candidate City’s official presenters arrived in Denver Monday afternoon for the kick-off of the conference from their training camp in nearby Boulder where they have been finalising several components of their presentation over the weekend.

The team have been working hard in Boulder finalising a new film to be launched at the conference and adding finishing touches to their speaker scripts as they seek to bring their vision to the international sports movement for the first time since the publication of the bid’s detailed Candidate File in February.

Carlos Nuzman, President of the Brazilian Olympic Committee and of the Rio 2016 Bid Committee expressed his confidence in the team’s advance rehearsals at the training camp. “Our bid has received unified support across all levels of government and we look forward to sharing this with the delegates of Sport Accord 2009. The last few days of team preparation in the beautiful town of Boulder have been very encouraging and illustrate our preparedness for this week and more importantly for the 2016 Games. Rio is ready.”

The official Rio 2016 delegation at this week’s conference includes representatives from the Bid Committee, all levels of government and from the country’s athletes with Olympian Adriana Behar.
