The name of Leonardo Gryner, who occupied the position of Communications and Marketing Director, was announced this Monday
The president of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Organizing Committee, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, announced this Monday 24th, that Leonardo Gryner is the new Chief Executive Officer of the entity. Since the beginning of Rio de Janeiro bid to host the 2016 Games, Leonardo Gryner occupied the position of Communications and Marketing director of the Rio 2016 Committee, position he also held during the Rio 2007 Pan American Games. “Leonardo Gryner was with us in all stages of the process, and knows the Rio 2016 project in details. The IOC Coordination Commission evaluation showed that the Rio 2016 Games organization is on the right track and, in this new position, Leonardo Gryner will be crucial for us to face the challenges of the coming years”, said Carlos Arthur Nuzman. In February, the Rio 2016 Committee announced the initial working structure and contracted two companies to help with the development of the process. Odgers & Berndtson, which worked with Vancouver 2010 and London 2012, is selecting executives; while the other provides consulting in building the organizational structure of the Rio 2016 Committee. Following this process, a new Communications and Marketing director will be hired.
