Rio 2016 Committee statute is approved by the Brazilian Olympic Confederations

The structure had already received the endorsement form the International Olympic Committee
The assembly statute of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Organizing Committee was approved by the representatives of the Brazilian Olympic Confederations that participated in the Constitution Assembly held this Tuesday, the 9th. The approval was the last step towards the structuring of the Rio 2016 Committee that will now require the register of a legal entity at the notarys office followed by EIN and patent.
O trabalho de estruturação da entidade começou logo após o Seminário de Orientação do Comitê Olímpico Internacional, realizado em outubro de 2009. Durante os últimos meses, foram definidos o modelo de organização, a estrutura fiscal e quais seriam os associados do Comitê Rio 2016. Antes de ser validado pelas Confederações Brasileiras Olímpicas, o estatuto foi aprovado pelo Comitê Olímpico Internacional. Vamos trabalhar em conjunto com as Confederações, isso é muito importante. E preparamos o estatuto dentro do prazo estabelecido pelo COI, disse Nuzman.
The work for the structuring of the entity began straight after the International Olympic Committee Orientation Seminar, held in October 2009. During the last months, the model of organization, the fiscal structure, and who would be the Rio 2016 Committee associates were defined. Before being validated by the Brazilian Olympic Confederations, the statute was approved by the International Olympic Committee. We will work together with the Confederations, this is very important. And we prepared the statute within the deadline set by the IOC, said Nuzman.
During the meeting, announcements were also made of the members of the Fiscal Council Adilson Motta, Selmo Nissenbaum and Sergio Cavalieri Filho. The board of directors of the Rio 2016 will be formed by the president Carlos Arthur Nuzman; the first vice-president, André Richer and four other vice-presidents who will be chosen by the Executive Council of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC).
On the other hand the Executive Council of the Rio 2016 Olympic Committee will be formed by the president Nuzman; the BOC secretary general, André Richer, the tenth member of IOC, João Havelange; and also an Olympic athlete and representatives of the Brazilian Paralympics Committee, of the host city, the state government and the Ministry of Sport.
