Last weekend, the Marvellous City was rocked by the arrival in Brazil for the first time of the NBA. With a friendly match between the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls, Rio Olympic Arena was the scene for shots, dribbles, slam dunks and other incredible moves that made the Carioca crowd get up from their seats in order to get a closer look at the action.

Paying tribute to basketball, which is part of the Rio 2016 Games Olympic programme, our readers answered the call of players Marcelinho Machado and Irio Nunes and sent their moves to be included in a special basketball gallery. Check out the best ones:
1) Not only NBA superstars show full mastery of the ball
Caroline Rocha Campagni , 18, proves she knows how to dribble:

And also score. Take a look at the shot she hit:
2) Perfect aim
Honza Koloničný, straight from the United States, proved he has the precision worthy of an Olympic basketball player:
3) Layup
Student Willian Quevedo shows another strategy widely used in duels between basketball giants:

4) Just like ... LeBron James
One of the world’s greatest basketball stars, LeBron James needs no introduction. He has had the world’s attention ever since his debut in Athens 2004 and, since then, has collected titles for the USA team. Since 2004, he has won two Olympic golds and a bronze.

On the basketball court, the 2.03m giant seems to fly:

But while the star made Miami Heat supporters cheer with an unexpected move during the match against the Indiana Pacers, the same move was performed masterfully in the 2016 Games host country.
Check out what Lucas de Jesus, from the state of Santa Catarina, managed to do:
5) A star on wheels
Paralympic player Irio Nunes has just shown Rio 2016 fans how to make essential wheelchair basketball moves. For British player Daniel Moynan, 13, this is nothing new. In the photo, the young player scores a three-point field goal:

6) Players from an early age
If Daniel already masters basketball at the age of 13, Lydialene Alice and Anderson Júnior are siblings who began playing the sport at an even earlier age, one and five respectively. Look how cute:
