President of Rio 2016 Organizing Committee elected one of the most influential persons of the Olympic world in 2009

US web site Around The Rings, and the German newsletter Sport Intern, two publications specializing in Olympic Games, named the President of Rio 2016 Organizing Committee Games Carlos Arthur Nuzman one of the most influential people of the Olympic World in 2009.

Both media highlighted Nuzman’s leadership that played a decisive role in the election of Rio de Janeiro to host 2016 Games. Among the 10 sport personalities ranked by Sport Intern Nuzman was voted third, after Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt and the President of the International Olympic Committee Rogge who shared the first place.

On its turn, Around The Rings published a list of the 25 most influential and outstanding sport personalities in 2009. The president of Rio 2016 Organizing Committee was voted 18th. The top personality in the ranking published by the American site is FIFA president Joseph Blatter, followed by Jacques Rogge.
