After Swimming, Athletics and Judo, now it is time for Rio 2016 to pay homage to Shooting. Accuracy and speed are tested in the traditional sport of the Olympic programme. Pierre de Coubertin, modern Olympic Games founder, was the first French pistol champion. That is probably the reason why three Shooting events made part of the first Olympic Games in Athens 1896.
120 years of Shooting history will be celebrated in a worldwide reference venue to the sport. The National Shooting Centre, located in Deodoro, is considered one of the best Shooting range in the world.
Check out Olympic champions and expert opinions about the National Shooting Centre, plus special articles about the laureate marksmen Rajmond Debevec, from Slovenia, and Oleksandr Petriv, from Ukraine. And don’t miss out the new content on Shooting page, a sport that is practiced all across the globe.
