The Paralympic Flag was raised at the Palácio da Cidade, the headquarters of Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall. The flag raising ceremony was held this Wednesday, and was attended by the President of Rio 2016™ Organising Committee, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, Rio’s Mayor Eduardo Paes, and the President of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons, in addition to athletes, sports professionals and government authorities.
Just like the Olympic Flag, the Paralympic Flag will be exposed at the location until the ending of the construction works of theOlympic Pavilion at Cidade Nova.

The Paralympic Flag arrived in the city on Monday night. The Rio 2016™ Paralympic Games will be held from 7 to 18 September.
