Rio de Janeiro has entered into the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in recent months with the first intense wave of test events, which have seen the organising committee go into full-on operational mode. While athletes have taken advantage of the chance to compete at the Games venues and the public have enjoyed seeing top-level sports in their city, Games organisers have been working extensively to ensure that the competitions run smoothly. Athletes and International Sports Federations have been full of praise for the events, venues and atmosphere, while the organisers have learnt many valuable lessons.
