During his visit to the new Organising Committee headquarters, Aldo Rebelo says he´s eager to see the world´s best athletes competing in Brazil.

On this past Tuesday night the 14th, less than a week after the visit by Brazil´s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Patriota, the Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Rio 2016™ welcomed Aldo Rebelo, Minister of Sports, and Luis Fernandes, Executive Secretary, at its new headquarters in Cidade Nova. The President, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, welcomed illustrious guests, showed them the new Committee headquarters and began the two-hour meeting.

The meeting counted the CEO, Sidney Levy, and the Executive Director of Sports, Agberto Guimarães, who did a slide presentation update on the Rio 2016™ Games competition venues. Rebelo was enthusiastic about the project news and confirmed that the secret of success of the Olympic Games in Brazil lies in the union of the three levels of government and society as a whole.

“This joint, close work with the government and Rio 2016™ is very important for the success of competition. The Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring a great legacy not just for Rio de Janeiro, but for all of Brazil”, said the minister, fan and equestrian.

“I´m eager to see the world´s best athletes competing here”, said Rebelo. The Minister and the Executive Secretary of Sports visited Maracanã Stadium this Wednesday morning. The return to Brasília is scheduled for this Thursday.
